Along with class room time, there is plenty of time spent working on practical situations. The spring basic training class has just finished and they are in their probationary period. One requirement after finishing the training class is that they must take two classes at the Hartford County Fire School, one class on SCBA's and live firefighting. We all would like to congratulate all that passed and welcome them into the department.

A quick Email from the Chief to Bill Kerr regarding the 41 Repeater : "You are doing a great job. Keep up the good work. This newsletter will be one more way to communicate to our department. It can be difficult, being that we are so large in membership. Looking forward to your success and hope everyone helps to make it a success."

The recent fund raising event by the community for the fire service has been an incredible success. The new thermal imaging cameras for fire rescue were ordered from ISG Corp. and have been received. The cameras will be augmented by the purchase of an optional video link system.
Rescue and truck companies will begin training with the cameras at the Connecticut Fire Academy. Tentative plans are for a September dedication and presentment ceremony. Stay tuned for more details.
