Mario (Ibanez) Sehuanes
Mario currently resides in New Mexico. He has changed his last name to SEHUANES. Mario explained after he and his sister became U.S. Citizens 2 years ago, they decided to change their last name to their mother's maiden name, to honor their mother's family. Mario also informed us his mother's maiden name is the last one in existence in the world. Mario sends his best to all his friends in the fire department.
The 41Repeater invites all retired members to contact our staff with any updates, thoughts, memories or just a note to keep all members both past and present updated.

Incentive Plan Committee
The first meeting of the Incentive Plan Committee was held on Monday, May 17th. The Committee consists of Chief Kelley and one member from each station. They are as follows: Jack Fisher/Station 141, George Males/Station 241, Jeff Morrissey/Station 341, Mike Brown/Station 441, Dave Galley/Station 541 and Sandy Manseau/Station 641.
The Committee will meet again on Monday, May 24th to discuss criteria for eligibility and benefits of the plan. The Committee will then present the criteria and updates from past meetings at the next department meeting on Tuesday, June 1st.
The Committee plans to meet with representatives on Monday, June 14th to interview the insurance companies and have any questions answered.
It's possible the Mayor and a Town Council member will be attending the course "Retention and Recruitment of Firefighters" at the CT Fire Academy. Chief Kelley is looking into arrangements.

Corrective Lens Face Masks
A form is being developed to be given to Captains to supply Chief Kelley with information regarding corrective lenses in SCBA face masks. He will be looking for the following information:

  • Names of interior working firefighters.

  • Of the interior firefighters, provide names of those who must wear framed eye glasses.

  • Provide the size mask for each member listed.

This information is needed so the disposition of the masks can be done in a way that will most benefit the department.
