Paying Respect to Fallen Firefighters
Jeff Schambach described it best when he said "It was fitting and appropriate that such a memorial is located on a professional and excellent center for learning.". This picture was taken on a brilliant day. As you can see, the flags are at full staff meaning no recent firefighter deaths have been reported. A memorial service was held the evening of arrival at the Academy where names of all Connecticut fallen firefighters were read aloud.

41Repeater goes to NFA
When you need to know, the 41Repeater goes the distance! That's right...the 41Repeater showed up at the National Fire Academy and was a hit to everyone who read it. Pictured here is Capt. Scanlon and Lt. Steve Eppler holding the 41Repeater in front of the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial. Remember...."When you need to know ~ The 41Repeater will be there!"

Way to go UConn!!!
The Town of Vernon Fire Department gathered along I-84 to help congratulate the National College Basketball Champions the UConn Huskies. Almost every piece of apparatus was on-hand with several of its members. In fact, there was even a complaint made to the State Police that our trucks were blocking the access ramp to the highway...(must of been a Duke fan!!!).

"63 - 72" On May 10th at 14:15 hours, units arrived to a fully involved shed fire. A homeowner had just finished mowing the lawn and had put the lawn mower away. Oooops! The intensity of the fire was compounded by stored gasoline, petroleum products, paints and propane. ET241 handled with assistance from Tower 141, ET141 and ET541. Nothing remained in the aftermath of the fire.
