July 6, 1999

Several days of very hot weather, on top of a faulty relief valve, caused gas to vent into the atmosphere. Terrace Drive Fire
July 30, 1999

Vernon Command Car 41 was confronted by limited space for equipment and water several hundred feet away from the actual fire building. Crews working for about an hour, brought the fire under control. The entire building was uninhabitable. Crews returned again in the early morning hours of July 31 to extinguish hot embers which had reignited.
