ET-441 carries the name Hockanum Hose Co., Rockville CT. This company dates to the year 1855, when the City of Rockville purchased its first horse drawn steamer. The company has been in continuous existence ever since and to this day they proudly bear the name on the side of their engine. The original firehouses no longer exists but were located on Park Place and West Main St. Their current firehouse was built in 1972 and houses 6 pieces of apparatus. The first were drawn by horse and ran on steam powered by a wood fire. The steamer run by the Rockville Veteran Firemen’s Association was once owned by the Hockanum Co. The latest incarnation is a 1994 E-One that was purchased shortly after the Plasti-Foam Mill fire. ET-441 is identical to ET-341. They are separated by one serial number. Truck 541 was purchased at the same time. All three were “wet down” in the same ceremony in November, 1994.
