2007 News & Events On Monday, July 9th, 2007 Captain Stan Landry and Lt. Steve Eppler were sworn in as the new Assistant Chief's of the Town of Vernon Fire Department. Swearing in ceremony for Town of Vernon Fire Department, Chief William Call. The Fitton Hose Company celebrates their 125th Anniversary at Station 541. Over 100 people were in attendance for this event. Congratulations to the Fitton Hose Company! Members from the Town of Vernon Fire Department compete in a charity softball game against the Vernon Police Department. Members from the Town of Vernon Fire Department partake in the annual Memorial Day Parade in Rockville. 2006 News & Events Members from the Town of Vernon Fire Department and the public from the Town of Vernon gathered for the official dedication of the new Public Safety Complex on May 6th, 2006. The new Public Safety Complex houses 2 ambulances, an Emergency Operations Center, Dorm Rooms, and offices for the Executive Officers On June 11th, 2006 the Town of Vernon Fire Department displayed ET-541, ET-441, and R-441 at the annual Day in the Park. The Day in the Park is held every year at Henry Park in Vernon.

on Saturday August 12th, 2006. What usually is a thunderstorm ridden humid
sticky night was unusually dry, cool, and enjoyable. An absolutely beautiful
day for a parade and carnival. Attending are 1st Assistant Chief Bill
Call, Deputy Chief Chris Hammick, Captain Tom McKinney, Captain Brian
Johnston, Lt. Steve Lavoie, Lt. Bill Harris, FF Jessica Call and FF Andy

2003 News & Events Rescue 141 members shared their knowledge and their gear with the Rockville High School's Fire Technology class on Monday, June 9, 2003. The students were able to gear up and use Rescue 141's heavy rescue extrication equipment. On Tuesday, June 3, 2003, the Fire Technology students at Rockville High School were given the grand tour of Vernon's new Tower 141. TVFD's recruit class goes to Bloomfield's burn house on Saturday, May 17, 2003 for their live burn test. Members of TVFD attended the 2003 NFA CT Weekend, April 4-6, 2003. The 18th Annual Town of Vernon Fire Department Golf Tournament is scheduled to take place on Sunday, July 27, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. Eighteen holes of golf will be played at Willowbrook Golf Course (124 Brookfield Street, South Windsor). Cost for this year's event is $34.00 per person which includes carts. The tournament is open to all present Town of Vernon Fire Department members and former members who have played in pervious years (prizes are for department members only). Food, drinks and prizes will be available after the tournament at Station 441. Contact Charlie Konarski to sign up. Start positions per notification of play - cut off date to sign up is two weeks prior to the tournament. Tower 141 members visit the new Tower 141 in Ocala, Florida for its final inspection. |
