May 12th, 2001-Interstate-84 West Between Exits 63-62 / Vernon & Manchester Line

Hundreds of calls were received by TN in Tolland for this MVA on I84. It was unclear whether the crash was in Vernon or Manchester.  Both towns were dispatched to the scene.  The two front seat occupants of this vehicle were seriously burned over 70-90% of their bodies.  The two back seat occupants were burned, but not as seriously.  Unfortunately, the driver of the vehicle died that evening due to his injuries.  Vernon FD Rescue 141, ET341, ET241, Engine 241, Manchester 8th District engines, ambulances from Vernon and ASM responded to the scene along with Rockville Medic and Town of Manchester Medics.
